DENIX SHARPS 1859 CARBINE BLACK FINISH
As always a great piece to add to my collection. I use these as props for my photography as they are well made and the attention to detail is top notch.
Sharps rifles were a series of large bore single shot rifles that began with a design by Christian Sharps in 1848 that are renowned for long range accuracy. The rifle has become an icon of the Old West due to its use in a number of movies and books in the Western genre.
Our reproduction replicates the carbine version that was very popular with the cavalry of both the Union and Confederate armies and was issued in much larger numbers than the full length rifle. By 1863, it was the most common weapon carried by Union cavalry regiments.

I was amazed at the quality and how the feel compares to the real thing. The wood stock is so much better than expected

But only has one Tigger. my grand father's has the preproduction carbine with both triggres.
This is a functioning, well built replica. The rear sight functions like the original, and the breechblock does too. The weight is accurate as well. Very pleased with the price and very happy with the purchase.
Well made, accurate replica, nice heft to it.
