Terrible grip
This one hurt me as I'm the happy owner of four other first-rate Denix pistols. Had the grip looked like the one in the picture I would have been ecstatic, however, the actual grip looks like a cheap piece of plastic. I use the pistols for theater productions and one of my buddies, who also uses Denix pistols by the way,, said "these usually look awesome, but they blew it on this one." Of course, the rest of the gun looks amazing but when it's in the holster all you can see is the grip, which makes the whole thing look like a plastic gun. Returning this one and getting something with a wood grip.

Poor timing and weak lockup.
This replica is intended to be a cap gun, and therefore line up the firing pin and chamber, but I do not dee how this piece will ever do this, since the cylinder rotates past the hammer every time I cock it. Lockup is virtually nonexistent and the cylinder stop bolt either barely or completely fails to engage the stops. I realize that this is just a replica and I wil only use it for spinning, but I paid good money and expect at least the advertised functionality. I gave it two stars because it at least LOOKS ok.

Deniix Fast Draw 1873 w/ Faux Auburn Grips
Beautiful replica for $47. I wish the shipping price was lower than $12.95. Great weight, 4 1/8 inch barrel length. I like the finger groove grip on one but stock. Makes it easy to hold. The ejector rod works nicely. The cylinder rotates and clicks with the rotation of chambers. The loading gate opens without issues. I don't dry fire the revolver much, not intended too anyway. The hammer cocks back at half or full with a great sound to it. Great replica for teaching gun safety, beautiful decorative display, fast draw competitions and just a wonderful revolver to have to honor the lawmen of yesterdays past or celebrate your favorite western actors. These replicas are NOT toys and should be cared for and treated with respect. Not for children but lawful adults only!

1873 Pistol with Auburn Grips
For an 83 year old friend and the biggest John Wayne fan I know, I'm building a special display for his Christmas gift thus year. This pistol is a great version of the one used by Rooster Cogburn in True Grit (1969). It makes for the perfect main piece for this project. He's going to love it! Wish I could add a photo.
