An exacting reproduction of the infamous MG 34 machine gun, made of metal, wood and plastic, with simulating loading and firing mechanism, and mobile bipod.

The MG 34 (Maschinengewehr 34) is a German recoil-reloading and air-cooled machine gun, introduced in 1934. It is considered the world's first general-purpose machine gun (light, bipod-equipped and heavy, tripod-equipped). It is capable of sustaining a high volume of fire, without sacrificing movement speed, or tactical flexibility. It was in service from 1936 to 1956.

The main design of the MG 34 was carried out by Heinrich Vollmer of Mauser, who was based on a model by Louis Stange of Rheinmetall, which had just entered service in Switzerland.

The MG 34 could use either 50- or 75-round tape drums as well as 50- or 250-round ammunition tapes. The ammunition it fired was 7.92 x 57 Mauser caliber and had an effective range of 1200 m with a bipod and 3000-3500 m with a tripod. It had a rate of fire of 800-900 rounds per minute, much higher than the British Bren or American Browning machine guns, which had a rate of fire of about 500 or 600 rounds per minute.

The German Army had managed to manufacture a multipurpose machine gun, and with which their divisions, both armored and infantry, were equipped. Even the German air force used a version of the same model, albeit modified for use in aircraft. Only about 350,000 units were manufactured due to their high cost due to their laborious and careful manufacturing.

Today, there are still many armies in the world that employ machine guns developed from the basic configuration of the MG 34.

Very impressed with this replica, excellent realism and detail. I added army surplus ammo and belt and looks like the real deal. Wish they would make a MG42!

Another hit from Denix. Heavy authentic looking replica. Impressive number of moving parts. I added an inexpensive repro sling (grip requires drilling), a post-war ammo box and a correct 25 round belt of inert ammo, all easily purchased on the internet. Looks just as good as most of the de-milled originals out there for a fraction of the cost.

    MG 34 (MASCHINENGEWEHR 34) MACHINEGUN - NON-FIRING REPLICA

Posted by Randy Dann on Dec 14th 2022

Honestly, this is the best replica gun out there...they just don't get any cooler than this! I weathered the finish with some steel wool and stained the wood stock a little darker, and it just looks great. The only complaint I have is that the top cover is pinned in place. You can drive out the pin, remove the cover and put an ammo belt in it though. MG34 belts aren't hard to find and I made dummy rounds from .308 components, which looks like 8mm but much cheaper.

Let me first give Kudos and Praise to the salesteam ..being very professional handling my order and keeping me informed of any delays or changes. The delivery was right on time and as posted of how long it would take. Well worth the wait ^_^ I was very impressed when I took it out of a quite secure and strong box that protected this item during shipping. I can say with great positivity ,.this Denix model is a " Beast " and is identical in all details of an MG-34. This will be a great addition to a Militaria collection. I would encourage those who have an interest in this type of repro model ,,.. not to have any reservations as you will be quite pleased as well as I was ..when the muzzle end was peaking out of the box when I first opened it. Priced very reasonably and affordable ...qulaity and construction....Replicaweaponry will have me as a return customer in the near future. Thankyou Sam and the Rest of the salesteam
